Welcome to Your Fishing Community Connection!

If you, your spouse, fishing buddies, or business associates are interested in fishing and enjoy the camaraderie of other fishing-folks, join the Rooster Tails Fishing Club of Northern California, Inc. An easy and fun way to check-out our 30+ year old, non-profit fishing organization of over 200 men & women, is by attending our regular third Friday breakfast meetings that are open to the public. Reservations are not required, just show-up at the Auburn Elks Lodge building, 195 Pine Street at Lincoln Way, Auburn, 95603, at 7:00 a.m. Free hot coffee will waiting for you with a buffet breakfast served at 8:00 a.m. It is a great time to share fishing stories and hear the best guest speakers at 9:00 a.m. for a half-hour presentation on fishing related subjects. We provide members and their guests an opportunity to learn about various fishing techniques on a variety of both fresh and salt waters unlike bass or fly-fishing clubs that limit fishing techniques. Both novice and expert anglers are welcome and owning a fishing boat is not a requirement to become a club member. A password protected Members-Only tab on our web site is organized by home-town, to coordinate fishing partners, car-pooling to club organized events and general communication between members.

Message from the Board of Directors - August 2026

Greetings Rooster Tails!

Hello everyone. August is warming up and so is the fishing. We have a salmon season for the first time in three years and things are encouraging for putting some of that fare on our tables. We are also expecting strong opportunities for other species as well.

Our speaker this month is Ken Mathis of Ken’s Custom Tackle. He will speaking on his current lure company, Pyramid Lake Tackle. Come hear how he has developed lures for the lake and other bodies of water.

We have added a section on the club website that shares recipes for cooking fish, submitted by members. Check out what we have so far by clicking here. You can find them in the Members Only section so be sure you use the current Username and Password. Please consider sharing your favorite recipes by sending them to info@roostertailsfishingclub.org.

We would like you to consider getting involved with the operation of the Rooster Tails Fishing Club by helping out with the production of the newsletter and maintenance of the website. Computer experience and a willingness to learn is all that is really required. It’s a great opportunity to not only support your organization but to learn more about fishing issues in your neighborhood. CLUB UPDATES

2026 Jackpot Contest continues! We are quickly approaching 40 people participating so far. We almost have an entry for each category of fish. You can sign up for the 2026 Contest by downloading the Contest Rules and the Catch Entry form from our website. It is under “Club Events/Annual Jackpot Fishing Contest”. Remember, you have to have the Jackpot fee in before you enter your catch!
Our “For Sale” table will be in the back for members to sell no longer needed fishing gear again this year. Please clearly mark your items.
